From the Urnfield Culture to the Volcae

1300 BCE- 750 BCE The Urnfield Cuture spread across Europe including Northern Italy. The people who became the Samnites, from which I believe I come from, were now in place.

500 BCE-100 BCE La Tène Culture spread Celtic culture across most of Europe. The Italian peninsula was already thriving with R1B people and came into contact not only with the Celts of the North (also R1B) but the Greek and Carthaginian colonists of Italy. These people came from different haplogroups.

One of the foundation myths of Italy is best represented by the Capitoline Wolf statue of Remus and Romulus being raised by a she-wolf. In actual fact, this was a Samnite myth. As you will see, throughout the path my genetics took, you will often find wolf symbolism or names.

The Romans fought hard against the fierce Samnites. Three wars occurred in 343-341, 326-304 and 298-290 BCE.

This caused my ancestors to migrate westward towards France. At first, they were the Volsci of Italy. Then, moving further west, they became Volcae. Both Volsci and Volcae are derived from the word for wolf. This is true of other places such as Wales in the UK. Its my assumption that some Welsh people of my haplogroup SRY2627 or those further up the chain, are also of Samnite origin (some made it to Wales via the Normand Invasion in 1066 CE, around 1400 years later). So basically I”m proposing that SRY2627 or its parent came through via Italy, a route south of the Alps. Interestingly there was a Celtic tribe around the Garonne river ( my family name is Garon) called the Garumni and were neighbours to the Volcae. Another interesting tidbit: the Mediterranean fish sauce known as Garum was manufactured at Pompeii, a city controlled by the Samnites in the 5th century BCE.

279 BCE Battle of Thermopylae was between Greeks and confederated Gauls which included some Volcae from the Pyrenees. They proceeded to invade Delphi and move on to found Ankara in present-dayTurkey.

The Volcae were already familiar with greek culture as their neighbour in France was the Greek colony of Marsalla. There was indeed such a thing as  Gallo-Greek métissage attested by Gallo inscriptions with Greek alphabet at Nîmes.

After the battle of Thermopylae, the Volcae maintained a presence in Turkey at Ankara as well as in Germany at Trier. These people initially did not speak a German language but an Italo-Celtic one. The Volcae were a known entity within the somewhat pre-literate confederacy of the Celts from the Highlands of Caledonia to Celtic Galatia in Turkey.

La Complainte de François Garin.

The second ancestor I found was Francoys Garin. In 1460 he had written his complainte. It was printed before 1501 and so it’s an incunable.

In his book he talks about being tortured with a choke pair: I think you get the idea!

Here’s a weird coincidence I found in the book:

If I translate from line 2016, it reads:

2016 It’s the reign of the Antechrist

The sword of justice, what to do?

Its handle is like, broken:

no one can hold it properly anymore

2020 for the laws of the world to maintain.

The great sheepish pastors are haters,

All the goods of the world perish.

Of course, 2016 in this context is a line number. Also Ante(christ) means before, not against. Oddly enough, this is my own personal philosophy as well: I believe the West is realizing that Christianity, Judaism and Islam are no longer tenable and should be non-violently disposed of through individual choice and commitment to reason.

I soon found out that Francoys Garin was often used by Albretch Durer as a model. When looking at Durer drawings, one in particular, a drawing of a troubadour, hit my attention; I knew troubadours were from Occitania.

At this very same time period, I got my results for my Y haplogroup: it’s SRY2627 or R1B1B2A1A2C. It’s from the north of the Pyrennées where the Troubadours came from. At this point I no longer doubted my ancestry. My genetics passed through the Occitan culture.

After discovering this most happy fact, I started to interest myself in Occitan culture including  its language as well as the Durer period in Art circa 1500.

3 facts blew my mind:

1-Durer painted  Saint-Anthony the man who took care of ergotic patients

2-Garron (my family name is Garon) means ergot in Occitan.

Ergot is that mushroom that grows on rye from which we make LSD.

3-I have myself used LSD around 35 times in my life since 1974.

This seamed to indicate that my ancestors like me, were familiar with the effects of ergotic compounds. I soon found a lot of art from many artists of the period that reveal an important drug cult existed during the Renaissance and that the descendants of these druggies are alive today and like me have instinctively been drawn to drugs.

I will now proceed to give you a brief  history of the SRY2627 as best I can . It will indicate that this haplogroup has been more than once exposed to drugs throughout its roughly 2500 years of history and that some people of this haplogroup might have a form of genetic memory associated with this past history. Please understand that memory in this context might only produce pre-dispositions to behaviours, not souvenirs of specific events. I refer to this as instinct: genetic memory triggered by environmental cues. An example would be an attraction to maps because an ancestor drew or used them.

Quinque Linguaru

In the Quinque Linguaru, the translation of criminale is given as La roye. This is one of the clues that led me to find the relationship that existed between the Durer family, François Garon and Guillaume Leroi.

This is not the first on-screen pornography but is the way my ancestor’s community accelerated the process of making woodcuts and made them more accessible throughout Europe from London to Venice. This is called an Alberti screen. Their community helped propagate alternative views to catholicism be they reformed christian, judaic, occult, humanist or secular. They were associated with the Waldensian cult of Piedmont until the massacre of Mérindol of 1545. My ancestor Jacques Garon was by then a Calvinist in Calvin’s Geneva.

François Garon

When searching for François Garon, I first came across this book: Quinque Linguaru: a 5 tongue (Latin, French, Spanish, Italian and German) lexicon dated 1542 under my ancestor’s latin name, Franciscum Garonum.

In it, there was this image. Although it looks somewhat religious it is not; There are no crosses, or no other sign of repression. Behind his head is the sun, not a halo. The shadows of plants and the shadow on the hillside are consistent with this view.  This was my first encounter with a woodcut. After some research I found out that Albretch Durer had worked with Lyon woodcutters. François Garon was one of them and was somehow linked to Guillaume Leroi, another woodcutter. This image is indeed that of Albretch Durer. I beleive that the framing on the woodcut was François Garon’s signature.

In 1997 my family organized in Florida a get-together which included most of my grand-father’s descendants. We were about 30. I did a genealogical search at the BANQ ( Bibliotèque d’ Archives Nationales du Quebec) on Viger street in Montreal and completed the Garon side of the family tree with enough information for a presentation. I called it Ancestor Worship.

At BANQ I came across Luce Jean Haffner’s book L’Énigmatique Chirurien de Mer Garon. Incredibly, It was about my ancestor Jean-Baptiste Garon, a Martinique-born individual from an old Francoprovençal family from around St-Étienne, Isère, France.

In her book, Mrs Haffner mentioned 2 possible individuals with whom we are more than likely related: Louis Garon, a Calvinist who reconverted to catholicism and François Garon, a publisher of a 5 tongues lexicon.

In spring of 2013, I was diagnosed with cancer. It really shook me up. I survived. Thank you doctors, technicians, nurses and the desire for life. My case was mild. Respect to the ill. Respect to my people, all Canadians who participate in our national healthcare system.

During this period, I researched both François and Louis Garon. I discovered an amazing story.

Humans have 46 single or 23 pairs of chromosomes. Each of 23 chromosomes is matched to his corresponding mate. Pair#23 is the sex determining pair. Women always supply X chromosomes. Men supply half Xs and half Ys. If the individual is an XX she’s a woman; If the individual is an XY then he’s a man.

In women, XX allows for gene mixing. This reduces the possibility of tracking inheritance via the X chromosome.

In men, Y is a stand alone and so does not change from generation to generation or from father to son except for infrequent and random mutations. We can use the Y chromosome for genealogy. A Y chromosome haplogroup is basically a bunch of men who can trace their ancestry to a common lineage of male ancestors. I’m SRY-2627 which has in 2017, a maximum occurance in Val D’Aran, Catalonia, Spain. It is a rare and young branch of the most common haplogroup family in Europe: R1B.

Theory vs Hypothesis

I am of a scientific nature. I am also quite a discreet person. I am nevertheless doing this site because I believe in the importance of what I have experienced and that it could somehow help everyone that hears of it. I’ll cut to the chase immediately: I believe in genetic memory and that it can be accessed with certain drugs. I urge you to read on. I have genetics to help me as well as artistic artifacts that are clearly visible for all to see.

New Netherlands

I presently reside in the Bergkoninklijk Heuvels near Rio de Gennes in the Niew Nederlandt. Today we call them the Monteregian Hills of Quebec.  The River is now called Yamaska: it’s Abenaki for Many Rushes.
